Stock Market LIVE Updates: Market expert view
Stock Market LIVE Updates: News flows indicate continuation of the positive momentum in the market. There are indications of a possible agreement between US and China on tariffs and if there is a breakthrough in the Trump-Xi meeting on Thursday, that will give another leg up to the markets globally where the leading indexes like S&P 500, Nikkei and Kospi are at record highs. A near-term positive for the market is the expectation that the Fed would cut rates in the FOMC meet on Wednesday since US CPI inflation (3 per cent Y-o-Y) is not high as feared.
There is fundamental support for the Indian market from the leading indicators relating to GDP growth and corporate earnings. The only concern is the relatively high valuations in India which might prompt the FIIs to again turn sellers if the market makes a smart rally.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Stacking the deck in your favor in special situations investing
Stock Market LIVE Updates: A principle I follow as an investor is to minimise the unknowns. As an investor, there is no way for you to know everything about a particular company. When a company you invest in acquires another, an additional layer of unknown unknowns comes into the mix. This is because there would be asymmetry in information in any M&A where the seller would always know more than the buyer. If the target acquisition is large enough vs. the acquirer, this additional layer of unknowns could derail the financial health and integrity of the acquirer. READ MORE8:01 AM
