Qatar’s energy minister said he’s “really worried” a lack of investment and a surge in energy use from AI will create a shortage of LNG and natural gas supplies beyond 2035.
Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi said global demand for liquefied natural gas will increase between 600 million tons to 700 million tons annually in ten years time — compared to the latest yearly production level of 400 million tons — with much of it driven by growth in energy-intensive AI.
