Sensex today | Stock Market LIVE Updates today, Thursday, December 4, 2025: Benchmark indices were seen holding steady gains in intra-day trade on Thursday aided by buying support in index heavyweights – Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and IT stocks. The latter were attracting buying as the Indian Rupee hit a record low of 90.56 against the US dollar today. At 2 PM, BSE Sensex was at 85,055, down 52 points or 0.06 per cent and NSE Nifty50 quoted 25,976, down 9 points or 0.04 per cent.
TCS, Tech M, HCL Tech, Reliance Industries and Infosys were the top gainers. On the flipside, Maruti Suzuki, Eternal (Zomato), Kotak Mahindra Bank and SBI were among the top laggards.
In the broader markets, the NSE Nifty MidCap index added 0.16 per cent, but the Nifty SmallCap index declined 0.09 per cent
Among sectors, the Nifty IT, and Realty indices gained 1.54 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively, followed by the Nifty Metal index (up 0.35 per cent). On the downside, the Nifty Media index fell 1.13 per cent.
